Individual Therapy​

Individual psychotherapy provides you with the opportunity to collaboratively address current stressors in your life, past experiences, and set future goals into motion. With the support of an experienced professional, in a secure setting, you will create an individualized treatment plan tailored to meet your goals. We will work with you to examine areas of concern, as well as identify emotions, behaviors, or relationships that may be holding you back from full satisfaction with your life and yourself. We are highly trained, compassionate, and dedicated to working with you on your journey to elevate your life.

We treat a variety of conditions including, but not limited to, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, life transitions, work stress, addiction, trauma, codependence, neurodivergence, and relationship issues.

Sessions are typically 55 minutes in length and are held as often as needed, though most individuals begin at a rate of weekly sessions, and then revisit this time frame based on changes in need.

Couples Therapy

Couples decide to engage in relationship counseling for a number of reasons. Some seek to address recurring patterns of conflict, build connection during times of challenging life transition, or to simply enhance their communication, emotional bond, and intimacy. Our therapists are trained in multiple relationship counseling methods, Gottman and Emotion Focused Therapy, allowing us to tailor our approach to each unique relationship. Sessions are typically 55 minutes in length and their frequency is determined by the goals and needs of the participants. 

Group Therapy

Group Therapy is a great way to increase support, insight, and connection in an emotionally safe and secure setting. Facilitated by a licensed therapist, groups are typically a small gathering of individuals who have similar goals or issues. Coming together to discuss similar experiences, thoughts, feelings and goals has been shown to increase our sense of belonging, provide new insights and perspectives, and additional accountability.

EMDR

EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a well-researched and highly effective therapy technique designed to help individuals in addressing trauma and alleviating symptoms associated with PTSD. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes showing EMDR as a helpful treatment for not just trauma but also anxiety, depression, OCD, addictions and other distressing life experiences.

Yes! All of our therapists offer both in-person and virtual sessions for optimal flexibility and comfort.

If you are feeling ready and willing to start therapy, we recommend getting in touch with us here. Someone on our team will be in touch to gather additional information, and answer any questions you may have. If you’d like to talk with a potential therapist before the first session, to see if they would be a good fit, we offer a free 15-minute phone consultation where you can get to know a therapist a bit before the first meeting.

We understand that life happens and want to accommodate you as best we can. However, no-call/no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of a session will be charged the full session fee (typically $125-$175 depending on the therapist).

We encourage you to identify the primary goals you have, or issues you would like to work on, and then look for therapists who may specialize in these areas. You can find our therapist bios here. Our therapists offer a 15-minute consultation call to see if they pass the “vibe check”. If it feels like a match, you can schedule with that therapist if they have availability.

You have the right to switch therapists at any time. We want you to feel good about your choice, and we will work hard to find the right therapist for you, even if that means referring you to providers outside our practice.

We believe that therapy should be accessible  for anyone. All of our therapists have a few sliding scale slots. Interns also operate on a sliding scale. Please let us know when you reach out if you are looking for sliding scale options and we will try our best to accommodate you.

If you feel like therapy isn’t working for you, it could be one of a few things. You may not be vibing with your current therapist, which happens from time to time. Therapy is like dating – you sometimes have to meet a few people before you find the right one! It may also be a therapist’s treatment modality or interventions that are not working for you. We always encourage addressing these types of feelings with your therapist. They will do their best to hear you, accommodate your needs, or, provide referrals for someone who might be a better fit for you. 

Confidentiality is a fundamental ethical principle in the field of mental health and therapy. Therapists are legally and ethically obligated to maintain the privacy of their clients’ personal information and the content of their sessions.

However, there are a few important points to consider:

  • Legal and Ethical Limits: While therapists strive to maintain confidentiality, there are some legal and ethical limits to this principle. Therapists may be required to break confidentiality in situations where there is a risk of harm to the client or others. For example, if a therapist believes that a client is at risk of harming themselves or someone else, they may be obligated to take steps to ensure safety, even if that means sharing information with appropriate authorities or individuals.
  • Minors and Guardians: In the case of minors (individuals under 18), therapists might have to involve parents or legal guardians in treatment decisions, and the level of confidentiality might be adjusted accordingly.
  • Group Therapy: In group therapy settings, confidentiality is discussed and agreed upon by all group members. However, it’s important to note that group members are not bound by the same confidentiality as therapists.
  • Online Therapy and Technology: If you’re engaging in therapy through online platforms or technology, it’s important to be aware of potential privacy and security concerns. Make sure you are using a secure and reputable platform that takes privacy seriously.

Many therapists are open to you “coming as you are,” but to get the most out of your session, it is always helpful to come prepared with some topics or issues you would like to work through or discuss. If you are attending therapy virtually, we recommend being someplace private, quiet, with a stable connection for that hour.

Your first therapy session can vary depending on the therapist’s approach, your needs, and the specific therapeutic modality being used. The initial session often involves the therapist going through an initial assessment of your mental health and well-being. This could involve questions about your emotions, behaviors, thought patterns, and any relevant life events. Depending on the issues you discuss, your therapist might offer some initial insights, coping strategies, or techniques that could help you manage your challenges. This is just the beginning, as more in-depth work will happen in subsequent sessions. Towards the end of the session, your therapist may ask for your feedback about the session. They might also discuss scheduling for future sessions. Remember, the first session is often about establishing a foundation for your therapeutic journey. It’s normal to feel a mix of emotions before and after the session, such as nervousness, relief, or even vulnerability. Therapy is a collaborative process, so feel free to ask questions, express your thoughts and concerns, and be open to the guidance and support your therapist offers. Over time, you’ll likely find that therapy becomes a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment.
